New Media Communications initiated the SME Lead.com portal in 2007. Around the same time, Priti Sikdar a close associate of New Media Chairman Mr. Satya Swaroop developed her model to solve some of the major pain areas faced by the MSME sector. It included providing assistance in registration, helping them to prepare project reports and acting as an intermediary between the MSME ministry and the unit owners. It provided for providing a single accounting solution and filing returns collectively on behalf of MSME members so that they would have a single tax stop and no individual hassles in dealing with manifold tax levies. Priti Sikdar was in UK for some time, but this project was her dream project and she came back to India to relaunch this project together with Mr. Satya Swaroop of New Media. Combined competencies of both these persons will go along to launch this single window service platform along with catering to training needs of MSMEs to trigger a socio economic turnaround in the way they do business!
