Preparations underway for second Africa Trade Forum

Under the theme, “Boosting Intra-African Trade and Establishing the Continental Free Trade Area (CFTA)”, the preparation are in full swing for the 2nd edition of Africa Trade Forum (ATF), which is scheduled between September 24th and 26th, 2012 in Addis Ababa. The ATF-II is expected to review the key challenges in implementation of the agreed action plan on boosting intra African trade and establishing the CFTA and to forge an implementing strategy in this connection.

The forum is a joint initiative of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), the African Union Commission (AUC) and the African Development Forum (AfDB). ATF is a platform for inclusive policy dialogue between various trade constituencies to deliberate and agree on unified approaches and strategies for the implementation of action plan on boosting intra-African trade and the establishment of the CFTA.
