In both developed and emerging economies, encouraging a dynamic small and medium enterprise (SME) sector is seen as a priority among economic development goals. While Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) represent the vast majority of businesses in Central Africa, it is clear that the current financial offering is not very diversified and really adapted to their needs. In order to boost access to SMEs under the guidance of Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of SMEs of Cameroon, this seminar will be conducted through presentations & panel discussions to learn about credit guarantee schemes and credit ratings applied to SME finance and to identify areas of improvement for better coordination between key players.
The seminar through presentations and panel discussions :
- Present the issue of SME financing and the structure of credit guarantee schemes (CGS);
- Evaluate the public and private solutions to facilitate SMEs access to finance in the region and the impact of CGS and credit ratings;
- Identify areas of improvement for better coordination between key players in order to boost access to finance for SMEs.
