Uganda President Yoweri Museveni has asked African countries to unite for trade purpose at the Uganda-Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) joint Business Forum at Munyonyo. Through trade, numerous challenges such as job creation, taxes that contribute towards infrastructure such as health, education and roads can be taken care of.
The President suggested abolishment of taxes at borders and urged the countries to concentrate on producing quality goods at cheapest location, which will in turn facilitate trade. Moreover, African countries can get quality goods at lower cost, encouraging the economy of the country.
Currently, immigration issues, high air travel rates and road network are some of the issues faced by the business community at the border.
